David McEnulty
David McEnulty is a Park City native who has returned home to the mountains after two decades of exploring the world, himself, and the human experience—with many adventures and misadventures along the way. He spent the last 11 years learning and working in San Francisco’s premier physical therapy clinics, yoga studios, gyms, and, most recently, psychological wellness institutes, developing a diverse but integrated set of skills that have crystallized into a unique and profoundly effective style of somatic therapy. David has witnessed—in his own varied practices and in his work with hundreds of clients—the inextricability of mind and body wellbeing, how positive mental patterns lead to healthier physical habits (and vice versa), and how it is often most effective to train all aspects simultaneously with a unified approach. This witnessing created an enduring curiosity, which became his passion and then his specialty.
After thousands of hours spent teaching yoga of many kinds, training individual clients in gyms for strength and fitness, and interning in a physical therapy practice, David became fascinated with the frequency and ways in which psychological facets would crop up when sweat would begin to flow or certain areas of the body would begin to open up or release. This fascination led him to pursue a Masters in Somatic Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies, a three year intensive program focusing on the psycho/physiotherapeutic applications of embodiment techniques. Completed in the spring of 2019, David has since dovetailed somatic psychology with his wide-ranging experience in fitness and wellness coaching, offering sessions to individual clients that are specifically tailored to their—your—needs and goals. Now he’s excited to bring this full spectrum practice to Park City, a place he loves as deeply as his work.
When not training, studying, or practicing, David spends as much time as possible enjoying the many wonders the mountains have to offer with his partner Kati and Shepsky Réka. He also loves to create music, write novels (or attempt to, at least), and unabashedly engage in the supremely nerdy, such as playing board games of all kinds, the card game Magic the Gathering, or the alpha and omega of nerdom: Dungeons & Dragons.
